London Fashion Weekend

This year's event was held across two venues - the lovely somerset house and 180 the strand. Desinger stands included Luella, Lulu Guinness, Tatty Divine and PPQ. Wristbands and goody bags were designed specially by Eley Kishimoto. The catwalk show started badly, having kept everyone waiting for over 40 minutes. The chosen trends (big shoulders and prints) were predictable, but also on show were the Manish Arora and Jaeger collections. Afterwards we were treated to a glass of Chambord champagne.

MAN afterparty at Somerset House

All manor of fabulous fashiony types packed into the tunnels beneath Somerset House last night to mark the end of a day of menswear and LFW SS10. Bar staff served up moscow mules, tom collins and later, pear cider, while Henry Holland hit the decks. Amber and Nisha of The Broken Hearts wore matching playsuits from their own collection for Beyond the Valley. The girls had to call it a night early to prepare for their Grazia shoot today.

Be a MAN

At the MAN show today the work of four designers took to the catwalk. Katie Eary, who served up a Medieval feast at last year's installations, remained theatrical with ribcage tops and slashed up denim.

J W Anderson presented a refined and relaxed collection, his simple cuts draping beautifully over the body like expensive vintage pajamas. The soft jackets which hung almost like cardigans are bound to be coveted by women as well as men.

Christopher Shannon pared down his look, now a more grown up street style. His playful edge remained with spray tan applied to give the impression of missing sunglasses or shorts.

Topman's collection was straight to the point with mass appeal- well cut blazer jackets, cropped trousers and unlaced patent brogues.

Now on to the after party!

Other designers showing included Mr Hare, Jayden RVA James and a film by blackout. One room had models stand on plinths like statues...

LFW Menswear

Today Fashion East showed their menswear installations, where journos munched on cheese ploughmans and knocked back several gin and tonics. Absolutely loved this sequinned cricket jumper by sibling

Bit late update

Fashion East yesterday where Holly Fulton shone with her glittering dresses. The show took place in the mote around the central courtyard of somerset house, where an extra long catwalk round its way around the tunnels. Victoria Beckham made an appearance in the front row, and chatted away to Sophia Neophitou from 10 and Harpers.

Later on was the Kokon to Zai show, which delivered everything we have come to expect from the kooky label. Girls wore a mish mash of coloured metallics with super high minis, while bad boy guys challenged each other on the catwalk.

LFW Day 2

Fantastic hair sculptures this morning at blow presents and cute fudge hair products in the goody bag so we can try it at home! Saw Diane Pernet checking out the Christopher Kane collection in Topshop which came out yesterday. Then headed down to the Steve J and Yoni P presentation where they had a harp player (see pic). Stuffed stocking puppets were strewn around the room, suspended from the ceiling and peeking out of trunks.

Bernard Chandran

Made swine flu chic with his glittering dust masks. Fish shaped hats were a bizarre edition to an otherwise sophisticated collection

Another one to watch...

Dean Quin proved himself worthy of the show's title with his already distinctive beaded tailoring. Dean graduated with yours truly from CSM this year

WHY OH WHY...

Can i not find a peter pan collar? anywhere?? They were all over a couple of seasons ago and are now nowhere to be found. multiple appearances of said collar in Coco Avant Chanel have failed to inspire some high street copies and i can't figure out why. Like Coco I would settle for a men's shirt that i could cut up. anyone? also - twin sets??
On the plus side, whilst searching desperately i came across this amazing vase from http://www.leasattic.com/ - who have an whole collection of them - and now i have more things to lust after

GIMMIE!!!

Beyond the Valley are stocking these glamorous pieces of gore by Momoko Tamura - cute little animals in torment. Speared bunny rabbits, nailed mice, sterling silver roadkill. I LOVE it!
